The MacDonald Family were home this summer enjoying some time with their families. During their visit, we got together for a family session with their sweet, little girl. Not only was she in a smiley, playful mood; the weather was perfect and I was thrilled to explore a few of the great little nooks within my neighbourhood, that

Bianca turned one this week, so we celebrated by having a little photo session followed by a cake smash. Although after this session, I may rename these sessions to "Cake Obliteration". LOL!  Check out her little video at the end. We had a ball!  Happy Birthday little sweetie! Bianca's First Birthday from Edgewood Studio on Vimeo.

I was hoping to run a Mother's Day special this year, but with the new studio just opening and getting caught up on a few things before the busy season, it just wasn't in the cards to fit in a mom day promo. HOWEVER! ;) I wanted to run a pretty sweet special to help kick things

Our little girl is growing so fast. Everyone said it would be quick, but it feels like she's learning and growing at the blink of an eye. We did a little shoot to capture her 4 month old rolls and precious little expressions.

Little Nathan was the youngest newborn to visit my studio at only 5 days old. His mom and dad were only in town a few days after welcoming him into their family, so I felt very grateful to be one of their last stops before taking him home to Inverness for the first time.

Cooper absolutely stole my heart. Mom and dad, Janelle & Jamie, were absolute troopers helping me to get him to sleep soundly and peacefully for his session, and I'm so pleased with the results. Here are a few favorites. Look at that  little grin!

Susan, Ashley & Blake invited me into their home and backyard for a little family fun. I love capturing authentic and natural play with a little one like this.  Family photography, simplified.

Little Reagan and I go way back — a year, in fact. We're pals now. Her parents Len & Gina blessed me with the opportunity to capture each stage of her 1st year of growth, with a photo session every 3 months. What a wonderful experience; to see her spunky little personality blossom before our eyes. Every time they brought her in I

With an active little fella like Hudson, it's not about nailing the perfect pose. It's simply about capturing some precious family fun and time spent together on a beautiful day.

Little Reagan was back for a visit to capture her 6 month sparkle. I absolutely love watching the growth of a little one! It's amazing to see. From tiny newborn bundles, then revisited 3-6 months later — it's such and honour to try to capture the budding personalities that are practically bursting out of them.

There's no greater compliment than a happy, returning client. It's even greater when it's a couple who's wedding you captured and they seek you out to capture images of their first child. It's really an honour. In this case, Sarah & Jered connected with me with the great news of their first little guy Jace's arrival, and

The Lewis family invited me to their home and golf course, Alderdale Greens to capture their family in true form. Thankfully, the rain drops parted JUST long enough for us to venture to a few holes and the tractor barn. Such a fun family!

Any family photo session that wraps up with a cannonball into the pool, is OK in my books. ha! Nothing says "family" quite like photos in your own backyard. More and more families are opting to keep it close to home and have images captured of them in their day-to-day environments. The Munro family spend most of their

Check out some of my favorite photos taken for the Maxner family. Mom Lindsey, is a recent CBU nursing grad so we worked in a few gown photos into their session as well. With two high energy little gals, Zoey and Avery, I can imagine it must be a relief to be finished up and can settle

No other session has made me sob with happiness quite this much. Sarita is my longest and one of my dearest friends. Almost 30 years we've known each other. So, to witness the happiness and love practically bubbling over and shared between she, her awesome husband Colin and their beautiful daughter Priya, can not be topped! Family

How do you tame 2 very active little boys to stay still long enough for photos? You don't. Don't try. The worst thing you can do is force them to also, because it usually results in tears and pouts. Neither of which we hope for on "family photo day". Your best bet is to let them do

Jillian & Evan are getting married next summer. So to celebrate their engagement, we arranged a little photo session date equiped with hugs and snuggles (them, not I), and we did some amazing sight-seeing as well. They wanted to include their beautiful daughter Raenagh also, who was armed and ready with precious little smiles for us. Couples

To help celebrate Linda & Lorne's anniversary this summer, their children arranged a family photo shoot to capture their time together and to create some summer memories. Congratulations and all the best to you and your beautiful family.

When my friend Ang asked me if I could photograph her family when they were home this summer on their beautiful property, I was delighted. Even more delighted to see them wearing "team" blues

Monique and Dennis, expecting their first child wanted to celebrate their excitement with portraits to remember this special time before little Ella's arrival. Thankfully our afternoon in beautiful Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, was blessed with warm sunshine and blue skies. ~ Congratulations Monique and Dennis. I had a wonderful time with you and know you'll be

There's far too much cute bundled up in this little tiny package named Micah. She was such a little doll in the studio and didn't seem to mind it a bit. She actually took a break for a nap in her parents' arms. Congratulations Julien and Sandra. She's a cutie pie. P.S. Shouting out to new or expecting

Amanda and Rob rocked this shoot! I was so excited to do a maternity session with them, we carefully planned out what style and poses they were looking for and played around with some new lighting as well. They were hoping for a few formal portraits, mixed with some more intimate and playful shots with their little

Maria and Nico are two of the cutest little munchkins I've ever photographed.  Maria is a little lady, through and through. Curious, imaginative, not to mention patient and overjoyed to have a great little brother like Nico. It took a few minutes to figure out how to ease her out of her shy little shell, but a

Little Eoghan Patrick is brand-spankin' new to the Lynch family, and this summer was his first visit home to Cape Breton to meet his aunts, uncle, and grandparents. I was so honored that they asked me to be apart of their excitement, and to capture their first family photos with their new little man. What made the

The MacNeil's were a hoot! They kindly invited me out to their home for another backyard photo shoot. These are my favs because I'm able to capture them in an environment where they're totally comfortable and at ease. This is particularly helpful with little ones like Dylan, who I THINK would be easily distracted. hehe  What a

Darren and I have been working on various freelance projects for a few years now. He's the programming genius behind the new Fortress of Louisbourg Association website. (Insert promo plug here! haha) To thank him for his many hours of dependable work, we arranged a family photo shoot in beautiful Petersfield, Westmount, for he and his lovely

Mandy and Andrew wanted some playful and less formal photos taken of their family of five. We took a couple of hours and just played around their neighborhood playground -- you can't get less formal than that! This type of shoot is my favorite, because it gives me some time with each child. I take them aside
