Doesn’t it feel like you’ve been waiting for this moment forever? I know that there are no words to describe how it felt when you found out that your family would be growing by ten little fingers and toes. The best is yet to come, mama, and that bump will be a bundle before you know it.

Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful and exhilarating (and exhausting!) journeys you’ll ever embark upon as a woman. Trust me, mama; you’ll want to remember how this special but brief moment looked and felt — from the roundness of your belly to the sparkle in your eyes — and I’d be honored to help you capture it.

What to expect

I want your maternity shoot to feel like you. Because while this pregnancy may be your family’s story, only you get to experience the pure joy of carrying and bringing new life into this world.

My approach to maternity sessions is to keep things simple, making sure you look and feel your best. I’ll welcome you into my home studio, visit you in your own home, or work with you to find the perfect outdoor location — whatever makes you most comfortable. My goal? To capture just how beautiful, miraculous, and precious your pregnancy is. At the end of our time together, you’ll have priceless keepsakes to share with all those patiently awaiting the arrival of your sweet bundle — and with your future child, who will one day be brimming with curiosity about their time in mommy’s belly.

I love capturing expectant mamas, probably because it reminds me of how incredible it felt to carry my own child. Having something to hold on to from this period of your life is an amazing privilege, and I can’t help but smile every time my 5-year-old stares in curious wonder at the photos of my wife’s round belly.

While nine months may feel like a long time right now, you’ll look back on your life and realize this pregnancy was a fleeting blip in time. It’s my joy and privilege to help you hold on to all the joy, nervousness, and excitement that comes with it.

Can I purchase a maternity session as a gift?

Absolutely! Maternity sessions make a perfect gift for anyone. Please reach out here to inquire about gift certificates.

When’s the best time to book my maternity shoot?

The best time to photograph your beautiful belly is when you’re 34-36 weeks pregnant. I recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance. Weekday and weekend sessions are available but book quickly during summer and fall months, so it’s best to provide as much notice as you can.

Can my partner join my maternity session?

Absolutely! We can do a combination of solo and couple shots during your maternity session.

I’m a little nervous and self-conscious about my changing body — help!

I completely understand. My goal is to always make you feel as beautiful and at-ease as possible, and I’ll never ask you to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. I’ll do whatever I can to make sure you look and feel your best, and we can absolutely chat beforehand to get clear on exactly what that looks like for you.

Do you supply outfits?

I don’t supply outfits at this time, but I’d be more than happy to work with you to find something perfect. Remember — you can come to your maternity session as done-up or as laid-back as you’d like. This is all about you.

What about hair and makeup?

Hair and makeup services aren’t currently included in my maternity packages, but I’d love to put you in touch with some recommended stylists if you’d like to do some extra pampering before your session.

What about winter maternity shoots?

I know the last thing you want to do is trek around some icy side roads or a frosty beach in the winter. Instead, we can use my cozy and warm private studio (with a full bathroom for prep), or I can travel to your home.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes I do! When you book a maternity shoot plus a newborn shoot, you will receive a $100 discount off of your newborn package.

Will my maternity photos be kept private?

Absolutely! Your maternity photos won’t be shared online unless you give me signed permission. If you’d like your gallery to be for your eyes only, that’s 110% okay.

How do I receive my photos?

All of the high-resolution, fully-edited professional files are provided as part of every maternity session with Edgewood Studio. They are made available to you via digital download from a secure and private online gallery. A signed release form will be provided, giving you full printing and duplication rights to your photos.

How long does it take to get my photos?

I aim to have your photo sessions complete and ready for viewing within 2-3 weeks after your session (with plenty of time for you to show them off at your baby shower!)

Do you offer canvas prints or framed enlargements?

I have a wide range of professional display and wall art products available in my Goodie Collection, including options that are difficult to find anywhere else. Please inquire for details, pricing, and information.
