Doesn’t it sometimes feel like your little one is growing right in front of your eyes? It’s so exciting to watch them learn and flourish. Yet at the same time, you wish you could pause time and hold on to those chubby fingers and sweet baby giggles forever.

While I haven’t yet figured out how to freeze time (I’ll let you know if I do!), my milestones mini-sessions offer the perfect chance for you to document your baby’s changing personality and features.

What to expect

These milestone mini-sessions are short and sweet to accommodate your baby’s age and bubbling personality. I pride myself on providing a stress-free, no-pressure experience for babies and their parents, going with the flow and always bringing a mix of patience, experience, and quick thinking (with a little bit of bribery and silliness) into our sessions.

From slow and gentle to sing-alongs and crazy dance moves, I’m not afraid to get playful if it means capturing all of your baby’s natural, loud, vibrant expressions. Most sessions last about one hour with 2-3 (optional) outfit and set changes, and clean-up is a breeze with our fully-stocked private bathroom. (The very best part? You don’t have to worry about cleaning smashed cake off the floor and walls!)

Birthdays deserve a little extra fun! Add an adorable and icing-filled 20-minute cake smash to the end of your Milestone Mini session to mark this special milestone.

Decorations and a small frosted cake in the colors of your choice are included, with a minimum of 20 additional images included in your gallery.

Can I purchase a milestone session as a gift?

Absolutely! Milestone sessions make a perfect gift for anyone. Please reach out here to inquire about gift certificates.

What is a Cake Smash, and what’s included?

A cake smash is exactly what it sounds like — a chance for your child to have a little bit of messy fun to celebrate their special day! If you choose to book a Cake Smash, decorations and a small, frosted cake in the colors of your choice are included.

I make and decorate the little cakes myself, in my own kitchen. If you have a theme in mind for your child’s birthday and want it reflected in your cake, it’s best to have a store, family member, or friend decorate the cake.

You can choose to do a stand-alone cake smash session, or add a 20-minute cake smash to your milestone session for an additional small fee.

What if my child is uncooperative?

I’m a mom, too, and I know that getting little ones to cooperate when you want them to can be difficult sometimes. But I promise that your photo session doesn’t have to be stressful and that I’m here to help this be a fun experience for you and your child.

Particularly for these milestone sessions, I like to keep things short and sweet, paying careful attention to your baby’s mood throughout the session. Sometimes we’ll slow things down, other things we’ll get a little extra silly. I try to keep things as pressure- and stress-free as possible for everyone involved!

What kind of outfits should I bring?

You’re welcome to dress your baby any way you’d like. Though, keep in mind that Cake Smash sessions tend to get very, very messy!

Do I need to bring anything else?

Nope! My studio is fully stocked with props, and even if your child literally obliterates their birthday cake, I have baby wipes, fresh towels, and baby bath soap available in our private bathroom so that you can clean them up before taking them home!

How many photos do we get?

A stand-alone Cake Smash session results in a minimum of 20 professionally-edited, high-resolution digital images, whereas a Milestone mini-session gives us closer to 30 images. If you choose to add a cake smash to your Milestone Mini, you’ll have up to 50 images to choose from.

You’ll be given all of these images in a convenient and private online gallery, where you can download all your favorites.

Can parents or siblings be involved in the milestone session?

Absolutely! Parents and/or siblings are welcome to be involved in the session for an additional fee of $100 plus tax. Please let me know ahead of time (upon booking, if possible) whether you’d like to have parents or siblings involved in the session.

Do we get digital files?

Yes, all of the high resolution, fully-edited professional files are provided as part of every milestone session with Edgewood Studio. They are made available to you via digital download from a secure and private online gallery. A signed release form will be provided, giving you full printing and duplication rights to your photos.

Do you offer canvas prints or framed enlargements?

I have a wide range of professional display and wall art products available in my Goodie Collection, including options that are difficult to find anywhere else. Please inquire for details, pricing, and information.

How long does it take to receive our photos?

I aim to have your photo sessions complete and ready for viewing within 2-3 weeks after your session. I recommend booking 4-6 weeks in advance if you’d like to show off your milestone photos at a birthday party.
