You’ve found a love that makes you want to fork over your last bite of cake, share the remote, and smile just a little bit wider each day — and you finally get to plan the day where you’ll celebrate that love, surrounded by all the people you care about most.
I know that you’ve been busy dreaming up every little detail of your wedding day. And while the flowers may dry, the cake may get eaten, and the music may fade, the memories last. I want to help you hold on to them forever, with photos that remind you of every tear, every laugh, and every emotion from your big day.
Even before your wedding day, I want to get to know you and your soon-to-be spouse. It’s important to me to understand you and how you interact with each other, so I can create images just as unique and stunning as your love story.
The most magical moments of a wedding day happen between the posed shots. From the quiet, tender pauses to the big, crazy laughs, I allow your story to naturally reveal itself. Even when you can’t see me, you can trust that I’m behind the scenes, capturing every last detail. All you have to do is relax, take it all in, dance your booty off, and celebrate.
Hi there! I’m Wendy. I’ve been capturing happily-ever-afters for more than 10 years now, but my heart still grows ten sizes every time a couple puts their trust in me for their special day.
My goal is always to give you wedding photos that look exactly as beautiful as you feel, with a blend of fine-art and candid photography. I promise to be that perfect balance of polite and invisible, so you can enjoy your wedding day to the fullest while trusting that the most precious mementos of your day — your wedding photos — are in great hands.
Every couple is unique, and so should be the photo coverage of your celebration. Please use the button below to get in touch so we can curate the best possible package for your taste, needs, and budget.
Here are my most popular wedding packages:
Please note a $300 retainer fee is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due 7 days before the wedding day.
“Wendy made us feel more then comfortable and our wedding day was captured perfectly. We loved our wedding pictures so much that since then she has done all our family pictures and stages of our children’s lives. She is so good with kids and their pictures always capture their spirit perfectly."
"Wendy is wonderful!! (we have recommended her to our friends!) As soon as we met Wendy, we knew she would take care of whatever was thrown at her and we never had to worry about our photos. We were able to enjoy our day knowing she was there to capture our special moments. Everytime we look at our wedding photos we get to relive our wedding day all over again. Which is pretty awesome! That is a testament to Wendy’s talent and professionalism. She captured the moments as they happened, we love our photos and could not be happier!”
“Wendy’s kind natured personality, her humour, direction, and her talent allowed us to relax, enjoy every moment, laugh (and cry) and capture a day we will treasure always. She is a bit of a Ninja with a camera. We hardly knew she was there but she captured everything! Amazing candid photos of friends and family, lots of laughs and she mapped out the best places for photos before our day so everything we did was fun, beautiful, thoughtful and stress-free. A great artist and a great person. We are so thankful!”
“Everything is amazing!!! The overall presentation….the proof book and case — not to mention the photos!! You thought of everything and really poured so much love and attention to detail into your work. I’m so impressed! I can’t wait to share the photos with our families. Paul and I really can’t thank you enough! We’re so, so very pleased with how everything turned out. You really managed to capture the essence of our day and we’ll be forever grateful for the memories you captured for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!"
“Our emotions and relationships were captured so perfectly in the photographs. I was able to relive my wedding not only through my eyes; but through theirs. I am so glad that you were there to capture it for us: to relive it, from now until forever. I am enchanted by your world and we feel so blessed to have met you. Truly Wendy, thank you.”
I’m based in Reserve Mines, just outside Sydney, Nova Scotia and cover weddings throughout Cape Breton.
A $300 retainer fee is required to book all wedding packages, with the remaining balance due 7 days before the wedding day. If you would like to arrange for installments, please let me know.
To be fair to all of my couples, I can only hold your wedding date once the $300 retainer fee has been paid and the contract has been signed. Bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you have to cancel your wedding for any reason, your non-refundable retainer fee will be held. However, any remaining balance will be waived as long as the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before the reserved date.
The number of photographs taken depends on many things: hours of coverage, number of guests/locations, etc. You’ll receive at least 400 images from your wedding — but the number is often much, much higher!
Many of the photographs will be taken candidly throughout the day, as the action is happening. However, it’s best to set aside some time for couples-only photos, as well as family photos.
For the bridal party and family photos, I recommend setting aside 1-2 hours. Ideally, I’d also recommend an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour for a mini-session with the couple.
Timing and schedule will all be discussed and planned out ahead of time, so you can simply relax and let me work my magic on your big day.
Absolutely. I strongly believe in family images being included in your wedding collection. Family sessions at your wedding are orchestrated to be quick, easy, and largely informal, to make them pleasant and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Yes, of course. It is very helpful to know which important relatives and friends are coming to your day, as well as poses or locations that hold special significance to you and your family. I will do my best to accommodate any direction and feedback you can offer.
Yes, I am the sole primary photographer. Requests for a second photographer can certainly be accommodated. Please provide at least 3 months’ notice if a second photographer is required.
Please don’t worry about this. I know how nerve-wracking it can be if you’re not used to being in front of the camera, but trust me on this one —
I’m committed to making sure you look and feel good on your wedding day, even it means I have to politely encourage your partner to grab yer arse, steal a cheeky kiss, or crack a joke to help you relax.
Depending on summer scheduling and bookings, normally you’ll receive your proof book and goodies within 6-8 weeks, or sooner.
It would be really lovely if you did, but don’t feel obligated. It certainly doesn’t have to be the same as your sit-down meal (many caterers offer “vendor meals” as an option). Feeding me simply ensures I stay cheerful, mobile, and that I don’t faint from starvation ;).
Absolutely. I’m pretty flexible with the cut-off time of weddings. If an extended amount of time is needed, I have an overtime rate of $100/hr that only goes into effect with your approval.
Yes. As a business owner, I pride myself on professional conduct and making sure both you and I are protected and covered.
If, for example, Uncle Bob has one too many "wobbly pops" and knocks me over, my camera goes flying and crashes on the floor… you don’t have to sweat it. That’s what insurance is for!
For the record, I always have back-up equipment with me just in case.
I use professional Canon cameras, lenses, and accessories and carry back-up equipment at all times.
I typically book weddings anywhere from six months to a year in advance, with a limited number of spots available each year. To inquire about your wedding date and desired package, please get in touch.
